昨日(2022年1月12日)の午前中に用事で外出したのですが、その際に頭に思い浮かんだのが in one fell swoop という表現です。

一気に済ませた用事を日記のように書いてみると、

I dropped two postcards into a mailbox and went straight to my juku to change the air conditioner settings. Then, I went to the city library and tried to donate two books but was turned down. I then checked out two other books. Finally, I did some shopping at a supermarket and came home. I did all these in one fell swoop.

ハガキを2枚ポストに投函し、塾に直行してエアコンの設定を変更。その後、市立図書館に行き、本を2冊寄贈しようとしたが断られた。別の本を2冊借りる。最後にスーパーで買い物をして帰宅。これらを一気にこなした。

この表現をどこでお見かけしたのか思い出せませんが、恐らく大学入試問題の英文で見かけたのだと思います。
