My Old Pair of Shoes [英文エッセイ]
今回は書き下ろしの英文エッセイです。最後の Wiseman Plumfield はわたしのペンネームです。どうぞよろしく。(笑)
Let me tell you about this old pair of shoes I own. Their soles are badly worn out, as you can see in this photo. In fact, I have been wearing them since October, 2015. In other words, they are almost four years old.
The problem is that I really don’t know what to do with them. They are shockingly battered, so I sometimes feel self-conscious, wondering whether other people might notice. To be honest, I’m afraid of being judged for wearing them in public. They say you can judge a person by their shoes. If you don’t believe me, just Google this phrase: judge a person by the shoes.
On the other hand, I am really fond of them. I’ve been to many places wearing them. They were with me on my school trip to Taiwan back in December, 2016. Besides, they are still good to wear, capable of protecting my feet from the elements, though except on rainy days. Why throw away things you can still use, and waste precious resources? In addition, they are comfortable for sure. Furthermore, they still look nice if you just don’t look at their soles.
In conclusion, I don’t know what to do with my old beat-up shoes. What do you recommend I do? (212 words)
